Congressman sings “Meet the Mets” after losing bet

Meet California Congressman Adam Schiff. Schiff lost a bet on the Mets-Dodgers NLDS with his colleague Steve Israel, and to pay up, he had to sing “Meet the Mets” on the House of Representatives floor. “Thank God the Mets are going to the World Series and not the Yankees” Congressman, you’re excused. (and that was the […]

The three-time NL West champion Los Angeles Dodgers will be looking for a new manager this winter. The team and manager Don Mattingly will be parting ways following the team’s NLDS loss to the reigning NL Champion New York Mets, according a report from Jon Heyman of CBS Sports. Don Mattingly and the Dodgers will […]

Kyle Schwarber reaches way outside for opposite field homer, ties NLCS Game 3

In the first inning of Tuesday’s NLCS Game, the Mets took an early 1-0 lead, which may have gotten Cubs fans pretty anxious. But in the home half of the inning, Kyle Schwarber once again came to the rescue, launching a home run to tie the game. Calling it a home run might not be […]

Jose Bautista met mini-Bautista on Tuesday

During Game 5 of the ALDS, a Blue Jays fan nicknamed “mini-Bautista” for his Jose Bautista-esque drawn on beard gained fame online for mimicking his home run in the seventh inning of Toronto’s win over Texas. Before Game 4 of the ALCS on Tuesday, mini-Bautista met his hero – and Josh Donaldson, too. Getting some […]

Fox has created a World Series promo featuring The Simpsons

The 2015 World Series is airing (as usual) on Fox, and for the first time, The Simpsons are featured in a promo for the series. The promo will start airing on Fox’s family of networks on Wednesday. Sure, The Simpsons aren’t what they were anymore, but it’s still cool to see them in a World […]

Kevin Pillar slams into center field wall making catch

Toronto Blue Jays center fielder Kevin Pillar is a fantastic defender. Occasionally when tracking down long fly balls, he runs into things. In the top of the first inning of Monday’s ALCS Game 3, Pillar tracked down this Lorenzo Cain fly ball…and smashed into the fence. The Jays could have used Pillar in right to […]

Curtis Granderson robs Chris Coghlan of home run early in NLCS Game 2

Everything is coming up Mets early on in Game 2 of the NLCS. Cubs starting pitcher Jake Arrieta looked surprisingly mortal in the first inning, giving up a Curtis Granderson single, David Wright double and Daniel Murphy home run (yes, he did it again!) to open the home half of the frame and give the Mets […]

Yoenis Cespedes nails Starlin Castro with rocket throw to home

By now, you would think MLB teams have enough video evidence and scouting reports to know that trying to score a run when Yoenis Cespedes fields a ball is probably a bad idea. The dude has a cannon for a right arm that will gun baserunners down. The latest example of that happened in the […]

CHICAGO, IL – OCTOBER 12: Addison Russell #22 of the Chicago Cubs leaves the field after suffering an apparent injury in the fourth inning against the St. Louis Cardinals during game three of the National League Division Series at Wrigley Field on October 12, 2015 in Chicago, Illinois. Cubs shortstop Addison Russell will miss NLCS with hamstring strain

The Chicago Cubs will be without their starting shortstop for the NLCS. The team announced Thursday afternoon that Addison Russell will miss the entire series due to the hamstring strain he suffered in Game 3 of the NLDS versus the Cardinals. Per

Nationals are interviewing Dusty Baker and Ron Gardenhire for managerial job

The Washington Nationals are one of four teams still looking for a manager, along with the Mariners, Marlins, and Padres. A number of names have been tied to all of the teams, most notably ESPN analyst Alex Cora and Diamondbacks AAA manager Phil Nevin. The Nationals have been tied to both of them, which is […]

Kyle Schwarber hits titanic home run over Wrigley Field scoreboard

Statcast measured this 7th inning Kyle Schwarber homer at 419 feet, which seems like a load of bullshit. But my god, look at where this Kevin Siegrist pitch went once Schwarber’s bat made contact with it. Schwarber’s homer increased the Cubs’ lead to 6-4, putting them that much closer to the NLCS.

Javier Baez smashes homer to right, gives Cubs 4-2 lead

Javier Baez is only in the lineup for the Cubs during Game 4 of the NLDS because regular Chicago shortstop Addison Russell is day to day with a hamstring injury. So it must have been pretty satisfying for Baez and manager Joe Maddon when he hit a long three-run homer in the second inning off […]

Yoenis Cespedes tattoos homer to put Mets up 10-3

With emotions running high at Citi Field, Yoenis Cespedes put his mark on the NL Division Series. Facing Dodgers pitcher Alex Wood with two outs in the fourth inning, Cespedes blew the game wide open by absolutely demolishing this three-run homer into the left field bleachers. Cespedes is now 3/3 with three runs scored and […]

Citi Field gave Chase Utley a predictably chilly reception

During pregame introductions at Citi Field before Monday night’s NLDS Game 3, Mets fans gave Chase Utley an incredibly warm reception. Just kidding, they booed him like they’ve never booed anyone before. Utley isn’t in the starting lineup for the Dodgers while he appeals his two-game suspension. If he gets a pinch hitting appearance tonight, […]

Troy Tulowitzki’s three-run homer puts Blue Jays ahead 5-0

The Toronto Blue Jays were pressuring the Texas Rangers all game in Game 3 on Sunday night, but couldn’t completely break through. That is, until the sixth inning, when Troy Tulowitzki launched a three-homer off of Chi Chi Gonzalez to increase Toronto’s lead to 5-0. The Jays grounded into an astounding four double plays in innings […]
