VIDEO: Horrible boyfriend ducks away from homer, ball hits girlfriend in the face, gets mocked by announcers

Guys, this really isn't that hard. If you take your special lady to a ballgame and a ball gets hit at you, just catch it. You'd think this would be common knowledge, but a young man at Tuesday night's Cardinals-Diamondbacks game somehow screwed it up.

What happened here is that Pete Kozma hit an absolute blast off of Heath Bell, because only Heath Bell can give up a huge bomb to the likes of Pete Kozma. The ball made a direct line for our "hero" who stood to catch the ball, only to bail at the last second when he realized it was coming in hot. Unfortunately, he did not warn his girlfriend of his cowardice and she ended up catching the ball… with the side of her face.

Yay! Two thumbs up, she's OK, folks! I trust those two thumbs up were also her way of expressing approval of the TV announcing team dropping the "Nice job, boyfriend" slam.

It is probably safe to say that their relationship won't be lasting much longer. But that's OK, because maybe this boyfriend can form a support group with this guy. Or maybe he should just admit his lack of manliness in advance and just bring a glove to the game next time.
