In utterly shocking news, there are incoming reports of an alleged murder-suicide in the parking lot of Kauffman stadium mere hours before the Angels and Royals are set to kick off their weekend series. Bob Dutton of the KC Star is all over it:

Scary, scary stuff especially since there were bomb threats at a government building in Kansas City shortly before this incident. Alas, more details are becoming available.
Am told a man committed suicide and shot a woman who was taken away in an ambulance.

This is all preliminary right now and there are conflicting reports as to whether or not the injured woman was an employee of the Royals.
There is also no word yet on whether or not the game, scheduled for 8:10 PM ET, will proceed as scheduled.
UPDATE #1: The woman was, in fact, a stadium employee.
Am told the female shooting victim was a parking lot attendant and that she was breathing when she departed in the ambulance.

Update #2: Mutiple sources are reporting that the game will go on as planned.
