It wasn’t a good night for the Minnesota Twins on Wednesday night.
While the team was losing 7-2 to the Royals in the bottom of the eighth inning, Torii Hunter took exception with a called third strike by home plate umpire Mark Ripperger. Ripperger quickly ejected Hunter (and shortly thereafter, Twins manager Paul Molitor)…and then Hunter lost his damn mind.
Shoving his finger in Ripperger’s face? Check.
Bumping crew chief Jeff Kellogg while Kellogg was trying to calm him down? Check.
Ripping his batting gloves off and hurling them across the field? Check.
Ripping his *jersey* off and throwing that on the field too? Check.
Veteran presence, ladies and gentlemen.
