Tigers outfielders collide, leading to Royals inside-the-park HR

The box score will read Lorenzo Cain home run off Justin Verlander, but it was really a running catch by Torii Hunter that was jarred loose after a collision with center fielder Don Kelly. As the center fielder, Kelly takes charge, but Hunter still attempted to call him off. Kelly tried to avoid the collision at the last second, but clipped Hunter, causing the ball to fall out of Hunter’s glove as Hunter fell and slammed his head on the ground.

Both would be okay, so we can now make fun of Kelly’s attempt to grab the ball from underneath Hunter’s glove when the ball was instead behind him, near the wall. That was how Cain was able to score on the play.
