Detroit has moved quickly to replace Rick Porcello in their rotation, reportedly acquiring Alfredo Simon from the Reds.

The 33-year old Simon was an All-Star in 2014 with the Reds, pitching to a 3.44 ERA in 196 1/3 innings. He struck out 127 and walked 56, but began to fell apart in the second half after posting a 4.52 ERA in 79 2/3 innings as his walk rate and BABIP spiked.
The 23-year old Suarez hit .242/.316/.336 with the Tigers in 2014, earning the bulk of their playing time at shortstop. Crawford is also 23, and was Detroit’s first round pick (2oth overall) in the 2013 Draft. In 123 innings with West Michigan of the Midwest League, he posted a 2.85 ERA in 123 innings, striking out 85 and walking 50.
