Hey, at least it’s not a regular season game, and at least the teams don’t need to take a flight across the Pacific!
Phoenix is only 350 miles from Hermosillo, which is much closer than Denver is to Phoenix. While nothing has been confirmed, I assume the game will take place at the Estadio Sonora, which opened in 2013. It’s an impressive looking facility, and as ESPN’s Enrique Rojas noted two years ago, it’s a replica of Salt River Fields, the Spring Training home shared by the Rockies and Diamondbacks.
