Sad news out of Boston this afternoon – Red Sox manager John Farrell announced in his pregame press conference on Friday that he’s been diagnosed with Stage 1 lymphoma and will start chemotherapy next week. Bench coach Torey Lovullo will manage the team for the rest of the season.

Ideally, the early jump Farrell got on his lymphoma will result in a short, victorious battle, and he’ll be able to be back with the team sooner rather than later. The baseball world is in Farrell’s corner as he begins his fight.
