Hey, the Cubs are still active at the trade deadline! But instead of selling at this moment, they’re…buying?

Felix Doubront looked like a nice buy low candidate this summer, especially after he seemingly burned his bridges with Boston by demanding some stability in his career. He’ll head to the Cubs with all three of his arbitration seasons still under his belt.
In 59 1/3 innings this season, the 26-year old Doubront has a 6.07 ERA. However, he threw a combined 322 2/3 innings from 2012-13, posting a 4.47 ERA over those two seasons. It’s not great, but hey, the Cubs were able to successfully rehabilitate the career of Jason Hammel this year.
