PREPARE THE SCULPTURE. The MLB All-Star game will be held in Florida for the first time ever in 2017, when it takes place at Marlins Park in Miami.
"It is with great excitement & pride I announce that @MLB has awarded the 2017 All-Star Game to the Miami @Marlins." -Commissioner Manfred
— Miami Marlins (@Marlins) February 13, 2015
The Marlins were initially supposed to host the 2000 All-Star Game at Joe Robbie/Pro Player/Landshark/Whatever Stadium, but after their fire sale following the team’s 1997 World Championship, the game was stripped from them and awarded to the Atlanta Braves and Turner Field.
If you’re curious about whether or not the NL will be batting last in three straight All-Star Games (2015 in Cincinnati, 2016 in San Diego), don’t worry – the leagues will continue to rotate.
With 3 straight All-Star Games in NL cities, leagues will continue alternating who bats last, so AL will bat last in San Diego in 2016.

Now, will the Marlins somehow be able to screw this one up? We’ll see.
