The Milwaukee Brewers have acquired Gerardo Parra from the Arizona Diamondbacks, adding his typically solid glove to their bench.
The #Brewers have acquired OF Gerardo Parra from Arizona in exchange for OF Mitch Haniger and LHP Anthony Banda.

Parra is still under team control through next season. He won Gold Gloves in both 2011 and 2013, but his performance has decreased substantially this year. Parra also has had a worse year offensively in 2014, hitting .259/.305/.362 in 104 games this season. He’ll end up replacing one of Elian Herrera or Logan Schafer on Milwaukee’s bench, neither of whom has played very well at all this season.
Haniger is a 23-year old outfielder in AA for Milwaukee, hitting .255/.316/.416 with ten homers this season. Banda will turn 21 next month, and has a 3.66 ERA in 83 2/3 innings for class-A Wisconsin this season, striking out 83 and walking 38.
