Marcus Stroman tears ACL, baseball is still stupid

Thought the rash of pitcher injuries would be ending any time soon? NOPE! 23-year old Blue Jays stud pitcher Marcus Stroman will miss the 2015 season after tearing his ACL during fielding drills today.

In 2014, Stroman had a 3.65 ERA over 20 starts and six relief appearances for the Blue Jays. He struck out 111 and walked 28, and was supposed to spend the whole year in the Jays rotation along with R.A. Dickey, Mark Buehrle, and Drew Hutchison.

This is dumb. Everything is dumb. There’s no immediate word on who will take Stroman’s spot in the rotation, but I’d safely assume this means that Aaron Sanchez will be starting the season as a member of Toronto’s starting five.
