In the first inning of Tuesday’s Giants-Dodgers game, Madison Bumgarner hit Yasiel Puig in the ankle with a pitch. The two then had words, and some brief chaos erupted at Dodger Stadium.
No one was ejected, and tempers were quickly diffused. Two batters later, Matt Kemp launched his 24th homer of the year to score Puig and make it 3-0 Los Angeles.
Bumgarner one-upped the situation by hitting a two-run homer of his own in the third inning to cut the Los Angeles lead to 3-2.
