Jung Ho Kang homered in his second at bat of the spring

Jung Ho Kang came to the Pittsburgh Pirates this winter surrounded by a cloud of mystery. How would the Korean infielder’s prodigious power translate to the major league game?

Well, we can’t make much of Spring Training statistics, but this homer that Kang launched off of Marco Estrada on Tuesday was pretty impressive.

Now that’s tantalizing.

However, Kang’s homer paled in comparison to teammate Pedro Alvarez’s monstrous blast off of Aaron Sanchez in the first inning.

Jiminy jillickers. Monstrous Pedro Alvarez is a scary Pedro Alvarez.
