During Wednesday’s Rockies-Brewers game at Miller Park, Carlos Gomez’s plate appearance in the bottom of the first inning was interrupted after two pitches by an unlikely source – fireworks.
Yeah, that’s the last thing you expect when you’re in the box getting ready to take some hacks.
Those fireworks weren’t a sign of things to come for Milwaukee, however. Gomez walked, was quickly erased by a Jonathan Lucroy double play grounder, and didn’t reach base in his next three at bats.
