The Dodgers won on a walk-off balk

The Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Texas Rangers 1-0 on Thursday night…because of a balk by Texas pitcher Keone Kela with two outs in the bottom of the ninth with Kike Hernandez on third base.

I love balk offs. You very rarely see them.

Oddly enough, this was also the *correct* call by Marvin Hudson – Kela clearly broke his delivery.

Also during the ninth, the Dodgers didn’t even get a hit to score their winning run. Yasmani Grandal led off with a walk, and Hernandez came in to pinch run for him. Andre Ethier followed up with a walk of his own, but Alberto Callaspo grounded into a double play to move Hernandez up to third and take Ethier off the bases. Then with Jimmy Rollins batting, Kela balked on a 1-2 pitch to bring Hernandez home and end the game.
