Chicago Cubs reliever Pedro Strop was involved in a car accident in the Dominican Republic, and after looking at his car, it’s pretty shocking that initial reports about his condition are positive.

Rumors are circulating that Strop was racing when the accident occurred, though they haven’t been confirmed. You’d think Dominican players would be a little more cautious following the tragic death of Cardinals outfielder Oscar Taveras last month.
The 29-year old Strop was acquired by the Cubs last year from the Orioles in the Scott Feldman trade. In 61 innings, he pitched to a 2.21 ERA, striking out 71 and walking 25.
