I’m an unapologetic fan of Bryce Harper, even if he sometimes is an emotional, childish wreck of a man at times. On Sunday, he showed off a very tiny bit of that childish streak when he tried to break his bat over his knee following a sixth inning strikeout.
The key word, of course, is “tried”. Harper couldn’t do it, despite some tremendous effort on his part. And you know what? I think it’s hilarious. Some people are probably going to try to use this against him, but I’m just laughing at him trying to come off as a badass and instead…well, you can make your own judgments.
