Ben Revere got a warm response in his Philly return

The reputation of “hostile Philadelphia fans” may be softening a little bit. Following a wild ovation for Jimmy Rollins in his return to Citizens Bank Park earlier this month, the crowd gave outfielder Ben Revere a warm response in his first game back as a member of the Toronto Blue Jays.

Revere went 0/3 with two walks in his return.

He wasn’t exactly a legendary figure with the Phillies, playing just 335 games over two and a half seasons with the club and hitting .303/.331/.363, but was always smiling and (oh man, I hate saying this) always played hard.

I think we can bury that “Philly fans hate everyone and anyone” talking point – it’s beyond played out.
