When your division rival goes all-in by picking up two of the best starting pitchers on the trade market in one trade, what do you do to respond? Well, if you’re the Los Angeles Angels, the answer is “acquire a fifth outfielder and a LOOGY”, of course.

Dbacks will receive RHP Joey Krehbiel and OF Zach Borenstein in exchange for Thatcher and Campana.

The deal is Joe Thatcher and Tony Campana heading to Arizona, and Zach Borenstein and Joey Krehibel heading to Arizona. Borenstein was a top ten prospect in the Angels organization this winter, while Krehibel ranked near the back of the team’s top 30. Campana is a fifth outfielder whose only asset is his speed, and Thatcher is a LOOGY that has struck out 17 left-handers this year without walking one.
