Allen Craig hit an improbable inside the park homer

When I think of players that can hit an inside the park homer, I generally think of speedy middle infielders or outfielders. On occasion, maybe a gap hitter will hit an inside the parker thanks to some questionable defense and crazy bounces.

So when I saw that Allen Craig, of all people, ALLEN CRAIG, hit an inside the park homer on Wednesday against the Blue Jays…well, I had to see how exactly this happened. It was about as crazy as I expected.

To recap….

-Towering fly ball to right field
-Crazy bounce off the wall
-Jose Bautista stumbling and falling
-A shoddy relay throw by Dalton Pompey
-A throw home by Devon Travis that wasn’t much better than Pompey’s throw

And that’s how Allen Craig, who has stolen six bases over the past four seasons and has had numerous knee and foot injuries throughout his career, hits an inside the park home run.
