Alex Rodriguez has apologized to the Yankees

I know I vowed to stop covering A-Rod at TOC until he actually did something actually on the field related to baseball, but I believe that his meeting with the Yankees today is a newsworthy.

Rodriguez and the Yankees met today at Yankee Stadium, and New York released a statement on their website following that meeting.

“Today we held a meeting at Yankee Stadium between Hal Steinbrenner, Randy Levine, Brian Cashman, Jean Afterman, Alex Rodriguez and Jim Sharp. Alex initiated the meeting and apologized to the organization for his actions over the past several years.

“There was an honest and frank discussion on all of the issues. As far as the Yankees are concerned, the next step is to play baseball in spring training.”

Is this it? Is the chaos between A-Rod and the Yankees finally over? Can we all get along with our lives and stop talking about the potshots these two sides are taking at each other?

I hope so. The A-Rod coverage over the last month or so has been painful.
