Don Cherry goes on epic rant against umpires and in support of Jose Bautista

Don Cherry is not afraid to speak his mind.

The legendary Canadian broadcaster, most widely known for his work on the extremely popular Coaches Corner with Ron MacLean, has once again gone on an epic Twitter rant, this time showing his supporting Canada’s only baseball team, the Toronto Blue Jays and All-Star outfielder Jose Bautista.

Cherry let be known that he isn’t happy with recent umpiring.

He let it be known he’s watched baseball a very long time. When’s the last time you’ve heard the names Dizzy Dean and Buddy Blattner?

This part I find particularly funny because Cherry assumes that commissioner Rob Manfred will be reading his timeline, which seems sort of farfetched but who knows.

He tells the truth.

Cherry clearly isn’t happy with how Jose Bautista has been treated by umpires at the plate and wants fans to track how many times he gets ‘stiffed’ at the plate tonight.

Whether you agree with Cherry or not, these are the kind of rants he’s known for. Cherry is a constant advocate for Canada and Canadian sports, and him supporting one of the Blue Jays most popular players should not come as a surprise. Bautista is known for giving it to the umpires just as much as he’s been on the receiving ends of bad calls, so personally, I take Cherry’s rant with a small grain of salt – but I 100% support it in terms of entertainment value.
