Don Cherry is not afraid to speak his mind.
The legendary Canadian broadcaster, most widely known for his work on the extremely popular Coaches Corner with Ron MacLean, has once again gone on an epic Twitter rant, this time showing his supporting Canada’s only baseball team, the Toronto Blue Jays and All-Star outfielder Jose Bautista.
Cherry let be known that he isn’t happy with recent umpiring.
1) Ok Blue Jays fans lets play a little game tonight and the game is…. Lets see how many times the umpire can stiff Jose Bautista.

He let it be known he’s watched baseball a very long time. When’s the last time you’ve heard the names Dizzy Dean and Buddy Blattner?
2) I have been watching baseball since 1951 when it first started on tv. Dizzy Dean who was the best and his partner Buddy Blattner, later

3) changed to Pee Wee Reese. I’ve watched the Rochester Red Wings, of the International League and I certainly watched the Boston Red Sox

5) Hall of Famer Timmy Raines and Terry Francona. I have never in all my years seen a player stiffed at the plate like Jose Bautista.

6) That pitch last night was the ultimate. Their catcher couldn’t believe it. Not only was it low, it was at least 6 inches wide. How Jose

7) can contain himself is beyond me. The hard part, you can’t argue balls and strikes. And it’s not certain umpires, it’s all the umpires.

This part I find particularly funny because Cherry assumes that commissioner Rob Manfred will be reading his timeline, which seems sort of farfetched but who knows.
8) Commissioner Manfred, I know you’ll read this tweet, and think that I am just a Blue Jays fan. Listen, I criticized my favourite

He tells the truth.
9) baseball player, Josh Donaldson, for leaving the box too soon with a count of 3 balls on him. I tell the truth.

10) Jose is getting stiffed and it must stop! Remember now fans, count how many times he gets stiffed tonight!
— Don Cherry (@CoachsCornerDC) August 12, 2015
Cherry clearly isn’t happy with how Jose Bautista has been treated by umpires at the plate and wants fans to track how many times he gets ‘stiffed’ at the plate tonight.
Whether you agree with Cherry or not, these are the kind of rants he’s known for. Cherry is a constant advocate for Canada and Canadian sports, and him supporting one of the Blue Jays most popular players should not come as a surprise. Bautista is known for giving it to the umpires just as much as he’s been on the receiving ends of bad calls, so personally, I take Cherry’s rant with a small grain of salt – but I 100% support it in terms of entertainment value.
