Earlier tonight, news began to break about a trade between the Mets and Brewers that would send Carlos Gomez from Milwaukee to New York. Hell, we even wrote about it, and we generally don’t do that until something is official.
Naturally…this trade fell apart over concerns about some of the medicals involved.

After initially posting a goodbye to his teammate Gomez, Brewers catcher Martin Maldonado deleted the picture and reposted it with a new caption to express his joy at Gomez staying with the team for at least another day.
