The longest home runs for the week ending July 2nd

Let’s all take a moment of silence to reflect on Giancarlo Stanton’s dominance of THE LIST, which may be coming to an end after he fractured his hamate bone.

……

OK, now let’s get on with it. Joc Pederson is once again at the top of this week’s list, and he may be the man to beat going forward.

1. Joc Pederson vs Allen Webster, 461 feet (June 29th)

I can’t recall someone getting a ball to that walkway above right center field at Chase Field recently…Pederson came pretty damn close, though.

2t. Ian Desmond vs Severino Gonzalez, 453 feet (June 28th)

Any homer that gets up to Ashburn Alley at Citizens Bank Park is ridiculous, though this was probably the least impressive one I can remember.

2t. Evan Longoria vs Matt Barnes, 453 feet (June 27th)

Longo didn’t quite get it to the upper level of the bar in left center field that Alex Rodriguez nearly destroyed back in April, but he came prettttttty close to it.

4t. Justin Smoak vs Robbie Ross, 452 feet (July 1st)

Justin Smoak is having a decent enough year in Toronto, and this homer was just obscene. Who needs Donaldson, Bautista, or Encarnacion when you have JUSTIN SMOAK?

4t. Mitch Moreland vs Matt Boyd, 452 feet (June 27th)

Mitch Moreland is hitting the crap out of the ball this year, and he sure gave this ball a ride.

Longest homers of the year
1t. Giancarlo Stanton vs Eddie Butler, 484 feet (June 5th)
1t. Giancarlo Stanton vs Carlos Martinez, 484 feet (June 23rd)
3. Joc Pederson vs David Hale, 480 feet (June 2nd)
4. Alex Rodriguez vs Nathan Karns, 477 feet (April 17th)
5. Giancarlo Stanton vs Alex Wood, 475 feet (May 16th)
