EVERYBODY FREAK OUT!
Earlier today, we wondered whether or not a Bryant callup would be looming for the Cubs. Clearly, that callup was looming, and is indeed happening in the immediate future.
Bryant spent seven games with AAA Iowa this season and launched three homers, walking twice, striking out nine times, and stealing a pair of bags to go along with a .321/.363/.679 line at the dish.
He’ll take over at third base for the Cubs, who have gotten nothing from the position all season. Cumulatively, the team’s third basemen have hit .152/.200/.242, with the bulk of the playing time going to Mike Olt and utilityman Jonathan Herrera.
Well Cubs fans, you wanted to see the future – I hope Bryant is able to meet your expectations.
