The longest homers of the first half

It’s been an awesome first half for long homers. We’ve been tracking them week by week and, as the season begins anew today, we’re going to bring you the longest homers we’ve seen over the first three-plus months of the season. Only one player appears in the top ten twice, and I’m pretty sure you know who he is.

Also: we’re not featuring anything from the Home Run Derby. In-game action only, folks. Also, I’m not going to be giving any commentary on these homers – I think the massive blasts speak for themselves. Anyway, let’s begin.

1. Mike Trout vs Jason Vargas, 489 feet (June 27th)

2. Giancarlo Stanton vs Eric Stults, 484 feet (April 4th)

3. David Ortiz vs Masahiro Tanaka, 482 feet (April 22nd)

4. Justin Upton vs Jenrry Mejia, 477 feet (April 10th)

5. Hanley Ramirez vs Jorge de la Rosa, 472 feet (June 8th)

6. Paul Goldschmidt vs Troy Patton, 470 feet (May 28th)

7. Giancarlo Stanton vs Jonathan Pettibone, 469 feet (April 12th)

8. Wilin Rosario vs Mike Minor, 468 feet (June 10th)

9. C.J. Cron vs J.A. Happ, 468 feet (May 10th)

10. Juan Francisco vs Junichi Tazawa, 467 feet (April 26th)

About Joe Lucia

I hate your favorite team. I also sort of hate most of my favorite teams.
