The longest homers of the past week include a new entrant into our top five for the year, and a new player at the top of our list of overall appearances on the list – and there’s no chaff this week. Lots of homers were absolutely destroyed this week.
1. Paul Goldschmidt vs Troy Patton, 470 feet (May 28th)
This monster blast from Goldschmidt nearly hit the scoreboard at Chase Field. Any home run that hits an outfield scoreboard requires some serious oomph, let alone one that hits a center field scoreboard.
2. Giancarlo Stanton vs Marco Estrada, 463 feet (May 23rd)
Just a few feet shy of clearing the batter’s eye in center at Marlins Park…that’s expected for Stanton these days.
3. Josh Donaldson vs Dustin McGowan, 448 feet (May 25th)
Oh look, another ridiculous homer at Rogers Centre. This is my shocked face.
4. Khris Davis vs Brad Hand, 448 feet (May 23rd)
The Budweiser Bar in left field at Marlins Park is a place where very few home run balls go and live to tell about it. Khris Davis joined the club.
5. Giancarlo Stanton vs Tanner Roark, 447 feet (May 26th)
*Dude*. This homer was maybe one foot shy of clearing the fence beyond deep center field at Nationals Park. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a homer go there. Then again, it’s Giancarlo Stanton – this is par for the course.
