On Monday, the baseball world heard news that it absolutely did not need to hear – Miami Marlins Jose Fernandez was going on the disabled list with a strained right elbow, and that Tommy John surgery was a reasonable expectation. As a baseball fan, it’s awful. I can’t imagine how the 12 diehard Marlins fans out there – they must still be sitting in a corner rocking back and forth.
Anyway, because of the universal sense of despair about Fernandez’s injury, I thought it would be nice to break out the ol’ Real Tweets from Real People gimmick to see just how badly the baseball community (myself included) is taking this. The answer? Pretty, pretty poorly.

Harvey, Bundy, Sano, Taillon, Parker, Moore, Griffin, and now maybe Jose Fernandez. Did MLB hire Job to succeed Selig as commish?
