Adam Wainwright is really excited about the USA-Portugal match

Apparently Cardinals ace Adam Wainwright is a huge soccer fan, showing up at the ballpark this morning with an American flag painted on his face.

Wainwright isn’t pitching today — Carlos Martinez takes the mound against the Phillies this afternoon — so here’s to hoping he keeps the facepaint on all afternoon while he’s in the dugout. Barring a rain delay or extra innings, the Cards-Phils game should be done in time for Waino to catch the full match.
