Philadelphia Phillies starting pitcher Roy Halladay revealed today in a press conference that he has been diagnosed with a bone spur in his shoulder, a frayed labrum, and a frayed rotator cuff, and will undergo surgery to remove the bone spur and repair his labrum and his rotator cuff. There's no date set for the surgery, and no timetable for his return.
However, during the press conference, Halladay did reveal that if no unforseen complications arose during the surgery, he could return sometime this season. All in all, the results of his MRI were probably the best case scenario for him and the Phillies, but if they go in to repair his shoulder and find that more cleanup is necessary, Halladay might have pitched his last inning as a Phillie.
