Toronto Blue Jays infielder Munenori Kawasaki already showed himself to be an entertaining postgame interview, reading a cliched answer from his pocket notebook before appreciative fans back in May.
Kawasaki, whose double gave the Blue Jays a walkoff win that day, was invited to speak by teammate Mark DeRosa. DeRosa knew Kawasaki was the hero of the day and deserved the spotlight. Additionally, his heavily accented English was good for some laughs.
The two make quite a comedy team and were at it again when DeRosa appeared on MLB Network's Intentional Talk. Kawasaki apparently has a love for 80s hair metal, as he demonstrated with his rendition of Bon Jovi's "You Give Love a Bad Name." At least that's what it sounded like. Sort of. Judging from that video, Kawasaki could have a lucrative side business — or alternative career — as a touring entertainer. Maybe he could front a Bon Jovi tribute band.
Let's just hope that DeRosa and his Blue Jays teammates stop Kawasaki from becoming the next William Hung. No one needs to see that. It could also be a setback for the world's Asian population. (And please, don't let him sing "Turning Japanese" next. That has to be inappropriate on several levels.)
