Looking back at our favorite moments of 2013

2013 was an awesome year, and the staff of The Outside Corner and the rest of Bloguin thank all of you for your visits to the site this year.

There were plenty of incredible moments from 2013, both on and off the field, and many unreal stories also came to light this year. Here are some of our favorites.

Remember back in May, when that couple got into an epic fight on the Kiss Cam in Fresno? If only it was real…

How about that ridiculous Dodgers-Padres brawl in April at Petco Park while Los Angeles was struggling?

In the awful first pitches segment of the year, Carly Rae Jepsen embarrassed herself at Tropicana Field in July.

Way back in February, Josh Hamilton pissed off everyone in Dallas after signing with the Angels, claiming his former club didn't play in a baseball town.

At the end of April, David Price went on an insane rant towards umpire Tom Hallion on Twitter.

Mets starter Jon Niese's wife Leah talked about her "Amazin blue" panties that she wore during his starts. Well then.

Chipper Jones stayed in the headlines with Twitter snark despite retiring after the 2012 season.

Shortly before scamming the Giants out of $27 million, Barry Zito was scammed out of $3 million in a fitness software scheme.

Matt Garza took some shots at Eric Sogard of the Athletics (and his wife!) on Twitter after Sogard dared bunt on Garza and the Rangers.

Topps baseball cards erased Pete Rose from baseball history.

One of the most frightening moments of 2013 happened at Tropicana Field, when JA Happ of the Blue Jays got hit in the head with a line drive.

Cuban pastries made Aroldis Chapman blow a save in Philadelphia.

The Indians and Reds engaged in a little in-state trash talking on Twitter.

Will Ohman got cut by the Nationals in the middle of a Spring Training game.

An awful boyfriend at Chase Field let his girlfriend get hit in the face with a home run ball.

And finally – one of the worst blown calls of the year took place in Seattle this May.

Happy New Year everyone, and here's to another great year in 2014.
