Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim outfielder Josh Hamilton finally has hit his first big fly with his new team. After signing a five year, $125 million contract this winter, Hamilton got off to a slow start with the Angels, earning scorn from Anaheim's fans as they scuffled to a 2-8 start. But on Saturday night, Hamilton finally got on the board, homering to right center field in the bottom of the sixth inning off of Astros starter Lucas Harrell to cut the Houston lead to 2-1. Albert Pujols similarly struggled in his first year with the Angels last year, but he didn't hit his first homer until May 6th, his 28th game with the club.
Despite the homer being the only time Hamilton reached base all game, the Angels walked off in the ninth inning, winning 5-4 after a two-run double by Pujols scored Luis Jimenez and Mike Trout, pushing Anaheim's record to 3-8 on the season and ending their five game losing streak.
