Marlins rookie pitcher Jose Fernandez, making his final start of the 2013 season, hit his first career home run in Wednesday night's Braves-Marlins game off of Atlanta ace Mike Minor. Fernandez hit the ball a long way and made sure to admire the blast. When rounding third base, Fernandez spit in the general vicinity of the third base bag and/or Braves third baseman Chris Johnson, setting off a brief scuffle at the plate between Fernandez, Johnson, and Braves catcher Brian McCann. Both teams saw their benches clear and their bullpens empty, but cooler heads would eventually prevail as Miami won 5-2, giving Fernandez his 12th win of the year..
