Dugout Digest – the Classic!

Yesterday, the rosters for the World Baseball Classic were announced. As I may have mentioned in this space before, TOC is going to be your home for WBC coverage, and we're going to try to cover it like no other site is. No one is giving the WBC any love, so we figure that there's a pretty glaring opportunity for us to provide you with coverage that no one else is putting out there. We covered the release of all of the rosters yesterday, along with a slightly more detailed look at the American roster, and we'll have more WBC coverage in the coming days and weeks leading up to the beginning of the tournament in March.

But aside from the WBC, there has been a lot going on in the baseball world. Mike Napoli is *finally* a member of the Red Sox. Michael Morse has finally been moved out of Washington. Matt Harrison will be a Ranger for the foreseeable future. It was a pretty busy couple of days considering it's the middle of January.

We also continued with our TOC Top Ten series this week, and profiled left field, center field, and right field on Wednesday, while looking at left-handed starters and right-handed starters on Thursday. Today, we're going to finish off the TOC Top Ten with the rankings for left-handed relievers and right-handed relievers, which will likely be a pain in the ass to put together and cause a lot of people to get angry.

Also in the last couple of days, we did some analysis, looking at possible extensions for Martin Prado and Jeff Samardzija, and just what the hell is going on with the center field position heading into 2013.

Enjoy your offseason, everyone.
