As Felix Hernandez was finishing off his perfect game against the Rays on Wednesday afternoon, Seattle's AA affiliate, the Jackson Generals were taking batting practice. A live feed of the Mariners game was playing on the scoreboard, and when Hernandez struck out Sean Rodriguez to reach hallowed ground, his potential future teammates celebrated like they were right there in Seattle. I love the young exuberance shown by ballplayers when they realize they're seeing history. When the history is being achieved by someone that essentially has the same employer as you, and you possibly know, that makes it even cooler. One of the players in that pile in the outfield? Hernandez's 28-year old elder brother Moises. Must be nice to see your flesh and blood making history.
