During Thursday afternoon's Rangers-Yankees game, Josh Hamilton of the Rangers hit a deep fly ball to left field. Yankees left fielder Andruw Jones, a ten-time Gold Glover in center field for the Braves, settled under the ball, but apparently lost it in the sun. Crippled by the sunlight in his eyes, Jones fell onto his butt while shielding his face, not coming close to catching the ball that bounced over the fence for a ground-rule double.
Hamilton would score on a David Murphy single two batters later. Jones got retribution by hitting a two-run homer in the bottom of the sixth off of Derek Holland to tie the game at four.
