The Lexington Legends of the A-ball South Atlantic League recently signed a player development agreement with the Royals for the 2013 season. As part of their new affiliation, the Legends did some rebranding with their logos and uniforms, and their road caps will be adorned with…a mustache.
The full rebranding was revealed last night, and the mustache cap was the most interesting new design released. The mustache is a tribute to Lexington's mascot Big L, who has a giant mustache as his defining feature.
The unveiling of the new uniforms, which you can see in full here, began when Big L rappelled down a 410 foot building in downtown Lexington with a crowd awaiting below. All this for new uniforms and colors…gotta love Minor League baseball.
