One of the more entertaining Twitter accounts in baseball is that of Miami Marlins skipper Ozzie Guillen. His broken English and unfiltered opinions made it a real joy to see the Lonely Island Venezualan family image pop up on my feed along with words spelled completely wrong and, assuming I could make out what he was trying to say, something worthwhile of retweeting.
Unfortunately, that has come to an end because Guillen apparently hates Twitter and wants everyone to “shut his pants.” Guillen announced the news with one final tweet in English and Spanish, and explained his reasoning in the following video:
In case you can’t understand or can’t watch the video for some reason, Guillen says he doesn’t make any money off his tweets, people are nasty and he doesn’t need the aggravation. He says not to follow him anymore because he isn’t Kim Kardashian, who tweets everything she’s doing. He then says to follow LoMo because he has better stuff. (Hmmm. It doesn’t sound like Guillen really hates Twitter.) He might not know how to, but he didn’t delete his account. He will continue to do his website because he gets paid for it, but hopefully he comes back to the Twitter world.
