The New York Daily News is reporting that Lindsay Lohan is moving from Los Angeles to New York. This isn't baseball news in the slightest. However, at her new place in New York, Lohan was apparently hanging out with a pair of former Yankees on Tuesday. Former Yankees? AWESOME! They must be superstars, like Bernie! Or Jorge! Or Paulie! Maybe Chuck or Tino?
Nope. The former Yankees that Lohan was apparently drinking and singing karaoke with were…Pat Kelly and Shane Spencer. Spencer played five years with the Yankees, won three World Championships, and was out of baseball at 32. He's best known for a ten homer power surge in his first 27 games with the Yankees after he got called up in 1998…Kevin Maas redux, right? Kelly spent seven years as a Yankee, won one World Championship, and was out of baseball at age 31. Both players were primarily bench players during their careers, and are both in their 40s today.
Lindsay Lohan can't do any better than a couple of bench players on Yankees World Series teams? Lord, how the mighty have fallen. As for Spencer and Kelly, this is probably the first time either has been mentioned in a New York paper in the last decade. Good times for those two, getting back in the spotlight!
