Jurickson Profar homers in his first career plate appearance

Texas Rangers top prospect Jurickson Profar, just called up to the major league roster this weekend, wasted no time in proving his worth. In his first major league at bat on Sunday against the Indians, Profar took a Zack McAllister pitch deep over the right field wall for the first homer of his career.

Pirates prospect Starling Marte also homered in his first career at bat, but Marte topped Profar by doing it in the first pitch of the at bat back in July. HAH! At any rate, this is a nice pro debut by the 19-year old Profar, who started at second base and hit nine for Texas on Sunday. It'll also give them an interesting decision about their future next season with Ian Kinsler and Elvis Andrus as a pretty solid double play combination up the middle.
