Going into Tuesday's pair of Division Series games, there was a very real chance that both the Giants and A's would be swept out of the playoffs. I am proud to announce that neither team lost last night, and there won't be any sweeps in any of the four Division Series matchups this week. WOOHOO! And what does that mean for our overall schedule? Well…it means that four games will be played today, and that you could conceivably be watching baseball for 11 hours (or more!) straight. That's not a bad thing. But first, last night's recaps.

The Giants won their game with the Reds despite a hell of a game from Homer Bailey, and the A's won due to some fantastic pitching from Brett Anderson, and this incredible catch by Coco Crisp to bring back a Prince Fielder home run. In other news around the playoff world, you won't be seeing Jaime Garcia until the World Series (if the Cardinals get there), and you're also not going to see Johnny Cueto starting today (or potentially in the NLCS either, if the Cardinals get there). We also took a look at the ten biggest surprises from the 2012 MLB season, which feature a few players still playing in this postseason.

-Tigers vs Athletics, 9:37 PM. Max Scherzer vs AJ Griffin. 2-1 Tigers.
