Dugout Digest – no clinching yet

If the Cardinals are going to win the National League pennant, they're not going to be doing it at home. The Giants won 5-0 on Friday to send the series back to San Francisco and put the Giants in a decent position with Ryan Vogelsong starting on Sunday and Matt Cain potentially starting on Monday. But that might actually not be a bad thing for the Cardinals. They won their last two pennants, in 2006 and 2011, away from Busch Stadium.

Giants 5, Cardinals 0

There aren't any games tonight due to the Tigers victory on Thursday giving them the AL pennant, and today being a travel day in the National League…but that doesn't mean you sohuld ignore baseball! Yesterday around the corner, we posted the post-mortem for the New York Yankees after that elimination at the hand of the Tigers, and also posted five observations about the ALCS. I'm not sure what exactly will be on tap today….but there will be something, along with the usual writeups of any interesting newsbits that come in.

Enjoy your day of (reading about) baseball, everyone.
