Dugout Digest – insurmountable?

The Giants beat the Tigers 2-0 in the World Series last night, taking a 2-0 series lead. While that's not necessarily an insurmountable lead, some Tigers fans are panicking with Ryan Vogelsong starting game three and Matt Cain starting game four for the Giants.

Giants 2, Tigers 0

Game three won't be until Saturday, so we've got a little bit of a lull in the schedule until then. Doug Fister of the Tigers got hit in the head with a line drive during the game, and his status for the rest of the series is still unknown, though Fister did pitch into the seventh inning after getting hit in the second.

Around the Corner, it was kind of a dull day yesterday. We continued the Free Agent Preview series by looking at the Mets, Mariners, and Padres, and not much else happened in a relatively mum day around the league. Today, we're going to go ahead and continue that series and look at the Pirates, Phillies, and Diamondbacks heading into the offseason, and as usual, we'll be covering any other newsworthy things that happen during the day.

Enjoy your day of baseball, everyone.
