Dugout Digest – gobble gobble

The week of Thanksgiving is usually pretty dead in the MLB offseason, but this year, we've actually had a solid amount of activity. A pair of pitchers went off the market and re-signed with their current teams: Jeremy Guthrie with the Royals, and Hiroki Kuroda with the Yankees. Keeping things in the AL East, the Blue Jays finally hired a manager: John Gibbons, who was their manager a few seasons ago. Also, a big name was DFAed as teams worked to set their 40-man rosters: Chone Figgins of the Mariners.

And in a bit of a different spin for this site, we dipped our toe into the college football realignment field, discussing what MLB could look like if they realigned like college football conferences are doing, and what the News Corp purchase of YES means for Yankees fans.

Enjoy your offseason, everyone.
