Not the bees! Again. Bees attacked in the middle of the Arizona Diamondbacks-Colorado Rockies game on Thursday afternoon, causing a brief delay:
The Diamondbacks’ afternoon game at Coors Field was delayed for a few minutes in the top of the fifth inning when a large swarm of bees came down the first-base line and past the Colorado Rockies’ dugout before settling by a photographer’s well.
The camera operator had to leave his post, but the game resumed when the umpires determined the bees did not present a danger to anybody participating in the game.
On SportsCenter, they showed a beekeeper later sweeping up the bees into a vacuum. They could not have liked that.
This is the second time this season that the Diamondbacks have had a game delayed due to a swarm of bees. On March 5, their spring training game with the Giants was delayed for over 40 minutes and it took utility carts of lemonade and cotton candy to lure them off the field so play could resume.
