Brian Wilson Has a Temper Tantrum

On this fourth of July weekend, we need to celebrate all things American. Baseball is of course, the national pastime and should be celebrated with much glory and fanfare. After all, two of the other four major sports are on lockout right now, and the third is primarily shown on Versus. But there is something else that’s inherently American, and that’s going crazy when you have a bad game, as Brian Wilson of the Giants did last night in their game against the Tigers.

Wilson just didn’t have a good game. The Giants closer came in during the bottom of the eighth with the Giants up 1-0. He immediately allowed a game-tying single to Magglio Ordonez before getting out of the inning. The Giants scored three times in the top of the inning to take a 4-1 lead, and Wilson came on for the ninth to finish the job. His inning went single-single-fielder’s choice-walk-single, and he was pulled from the game. Jeremy Affeldt relieved him and allowed a run on an error before getting Brennan Boesch to line into a game-ending double play to preserve the victory. After he was pulled, Wilson wasn’t too pleased, as you can tell from the video below.

That poor jug of Gatorade. More importantly, all that Gatorade wasted….what a shame. At least we got a hell of a moment out of it.

About Joe Lucia

I hate your favorite team. I also sort of hate most of my favorite teams.
