The worst first pitches ever, revisited

Two years ago, we compiled a video gallery of some of the worst first pitches that we’ve ever seen. To this date, the post remains one of the most-viewed in TOC history. But in the two years since, we have seen some even more terrible first pitches and the list needs to be revisited. Of course, 50 Cent’s disaster at Citi Field will be on this list – that’s what inspired the revision!

So without further ado, here are the worst first pitches ever – with some more recent additions to our legendary favorites. They’re in no particular order.

Gary Sinise.

This is the pitch that spurred our initial post two years ago. It’s a disaster, and doesn’t even come close to crossing home plate in the air.

John Bledsoe.

The beauty of minor league and college baseball – random citizens get to throw out first pitches. Bledsoe was the executive VP of a local insurance company, and well…he should stick to his day job.

50 Cent.

JUUUUUUUUUUUUST A BIT OUTSIDE. Or inside, if a lefty is up.

Gary Dell’Abate.

Baba Booey from the Howard Stern Show set the bar high with this throw – he hit the umpire, who was standing far away from the plate.

Carly Rae Jepsen.

Remember when Call Me Maybe was a thing? I think I’ll remember this disastrous pitch more than the song.

Jim Thome.

Jim Thome, FORMER PRO BASEBALL PLAYER AND FUTURE BASEBALL HALL OF FAMER.
